How to Make A Simple Soccer Video for Social Media

So, you want to make that perfect soccer video that goes viral, or at least gets a few likes? Let's start with some basic tips. Remember you can always edit out the bad stuff.

Basics

  • Record yourself using your phone.

  • Shoot vertical if possible. Horizontal is ok and in some cases necessary. However, don’t do both!

  • If you are answering questions or talking a lot take your time and try not to rush it.

  • Shoot in a quiet space so that we can hear you.

  • If someone is helping you record, have them maintain the focus on you by tapping the screen.

  • Avoid '“the wobbles” by bracing your elbows.

  • Replay your video and make sure there is audio and that you are in the frame.

Now that you have some basic tips, submit a video to LASC for a chance to be featured on LASC’s social channels.

Player Submission Video

In an effort to keep players engaged, we want to share on LASC’s social channels how players are currently training at home. If you are interested in participating please read the guidelines below:

Guidelines

Record yourself (on your phone) answering these questions. You do not have to answer all of them, but we do encourage that you answer the soccer questions.

Soccer Questions

  1. What kind of physical training are you doing to stay fit during this time?

  2. What kid of technical training are you doing to improve your touch?

  3. How many days a week are you doing these training sessions?

  4. Are you training with anyone else? ie: family member or by yourself?

General Questions

  1. What else have you been doing to stay busy during this time?

  2. Have you done anything fun with your family that you would like to share?

  3. What do you find most challenging about having to stay at home?

Record Your Training Routine

Shoot a few short clips of at least 15 seconds each of your training routine. This does not need to be anything fancy, if you are training in your backyard then shoot in your backyard.

Shooting Tips

  • Answer questions in a quiet area with minimal background noise so we can hear you.

  • Shoot vertical. Horizontal is ok, but vertical is preferred. Do not mix it up. Either shoot everything vertically or horizontally.

Avoid

  • Wearing gear from another club; especially if it has a large noticeable logo

  • Wearing clothing with offensive messages

Submission Instructions

  • Email videos to: social@lasoccerclub.org

  • Email Subject line: Player Submission Video: “Player’s Name”

  • Include in the email:

    • Player Name

    • Team

    • Instagram Username (if you have one)

That’s it! Pretty simple really. We’ve already received some awesome videos and can’t wait to see more.
